No — this is a common misconception. The famous Nine Arches Bridge is only visible on the train journey to Ella. If seeing this landmark is something you would like to add to your tour, we suggest extending your trip to Ella, where you’ll also enjoy dramatic scenery, tea plantations, and a more immersive highlands experience.
Q: Can I visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage?
Pinnawala is popular, but we recommend a safari instead for a more ethical and authentic experience. In parks like Minneriya, Udawalawe, or Wilpattu, you’ll see elephants roaming freely in their natural habitat.
