Galle Fort
UNESCO-listed Dutch colonial fort on the southern coast. Walk the ramparts at sunset, browse the boutique shops, and dine inside the old fort walls. A natural pairing with sport in Galle.

Sigiriya Rock
The 5th-century rock fortress, one of the great archaeological sites of South Asia. A morning climb before the heat, followed by the frescoes and the mirror wall on the way down. Unforgettable for any touring side.

The cultural capital. The Temple of the Tooth, the lakeside walks, and the cooler temperatures of the highlands. Tea plantation tours add a half-day cultural break between fixtures.
